My name is Corinn.
my family calls me cori. somewhere along the way, I became Rinny.
when I was maybe 21, a friend’s kid couldn’t quite pronounce Corinn, so he called me Rinny instead.
honestly, it stuck. somewhere between that little mispronunciation and the person I was becoming, rinny rinn rinn was born.
anyway, welcome to my own little corner of the internet, where feelings become essays, bad ideas become character development, and someone is probably going to need to sit down after reading something I’ve written.
I’m a writer, social services professional, social work student, advocate, and a woman with about 47 open mental tabs all the time. I have a background in theology and anthropology, which means I can probably overanalyze your behavior on both a spiritual and sociological level. you’re welcome or I’m sorry.
I’m fascinated by people. the things we say, the things we don’t, the things we swear we don’t mean, and the things we accidentally reveal about ourselves at 2 am.
I’m interested in identity, culture, relationships, power, feminism, trauma, social justice and pretty much why people will do literally anything except communicate like adults.
my life has been a combination of ambition, reinvention, romantic idealism, hard lessons, very questionable plot twists, and an impressive commitment to figuring things out the hard way.
I have been the girl with the five year plan and the girl staring at the wall wondering what on earth just happened. I’ve been certain, completely lost, wildly optimistic, deeply cynical, and sometimes all four before noon.
I care about people. I care about justice. I care about the things that happen when nobody is watching. I believe accountability and compassion can exist in the same room and I have a particular appreciation for asking uncomfortable questions when comfortable answers aren’t good enough.
I’m still learning, still growing, and still trying to figure out how to make the world a little less brutal without personally fighting every broken system in this country. no promises on that last part.
pAInfully and deeply on brand for me
literature. anthropology. theology. feminism. social justice. Taylor swift bridges. Phoebe bridgers lyrics. Olivia Rodrigo being a little too relatable. essays that make me feel personally targeted by a stranger’s ability to articulate my exact thoughts.
long walks. dogs. good coffee. great outfits. overthinking conversations that happened 3 weeks ago. collecting little observations about people and saving them in my brain for a rainy day.
I love a woman who knows who she is. I love a person who can admit they are wrong. I love people who think deeply, laugh at themselves, and don’t confuse being loud with being right.
I’m a romantic with a suspiciously analytical brain. a softie with opinions. an advocate who often needs to be reminded that not everyone problem is mine to solve.
I want meaningful work, meaningful relationships, meaningful writing, and a like that is totally fucking mine.
I want to keep learning, changing, and becoming someone who younger me wouldn’t have known how to imagine.
I would also like everyone to communicate clearly. apparently that’s asking a lot.
anyway, welcome
my name is corinn.
my family gets to call me cori.
you can call me rinny.
and if you’ve ever wondered whether I’ve written about you, well, that’s in interesting way to start.
with love, curiosity, and frankly an insane number of thoughts,
Rinny
